Rarely do the personal and political merge with such eloquence as in the
literature of prize-winning Israeli author Amos Oz, whose books have been
translated into more than 40 languages. Two young filmmakers followed the writer
for nearly two years to offer an intimate glimpse of a charming yet outspoken
luminary who refuses to compromise his dream of peaceful co-existence between
Israelis and Palestinians. This award-winning film portrays a life that reflects
the realms of tragic history and fervent hope through fiction and reality. With
appearances by Paul Auster, Nadine Gordimer, Sari Nusseibeh, and Salman Rushdie.
First full-length screening in Germany.
Guests: Masha and Yonathan Zur
